Kishan made the remarks during the inauguration of a newly constructed Kalyan Mandapam in Basharatpur, Gorakhpur.
While speaking about the transformation of his parliamentary constituency, Kishan said:
“Hamke lagraha Spain, hamke lagraha ye adbhut jagah. Hamke smart city lagraha.”
He went on to say that he had travelled to different places and felt that the development he was seeing in Gorakhpur was comparable to what one might see in a smart city.
‘I Feel It Is Spain’
Explaining his comment, Kishan said he felt as if he was in Spain because of the changes taking place around him.
He also made a humorous remark about people who, according to him, were unable to see the development.
His animated Bhojpuri delivery and the comparison immediately drew laughter from people attending the event.

The comment also prompted a light-hearted reaction from the stage.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was seen smiling during Kishan’s remarks. State minister Sanjay Nishad and the event’s anchor were also seen laughing.
