The Pushpa franchise plays an important role in making Rashmika Mandanna a ‘national crush’. Her performance as Srivalli, the female lead in the Sukumar directorial, put her on the global map, opening many doors for her career to expand.
Having dedicated five years to the project with Allu Arjun, the actress got emotional on the last day of Pushpa 2’s shoot. In a recent interview, Rashmika said she is missing Sukumar and Allu Arjun.
Rashmika Mandanna recalls Pushpa 2’s last day of shoot
In a special segment with Mashable India, Rashmika reacted to her picture with Sukumar and Allu Arjun that was clicked on the last day of shoot. The actress said, “We shot the song after all the talkie portion was done. The last day was super emotional because it hit us all that five years journey was coming to an end. It is not really an end because we have a part three. When you get done with a film, it really hits. You spend so much time with them; you really miss them. I miss Suku sir and Bunny sir right now.”
On the eve of Pushpa 2’s release on December 5, 2024, Rashmika shared behind-the-scenes pictures on Instagram and wrote, “It’s fascinating to see myself be so affected and so personally connected with this team and for a film.. never before have I ever let a film influence my emotions and today on the eve of the release I am feeling emotions I’ve never felt for a film before.”
She added, “Hmm.. where do I begin.. Pushpa started in 2021 but for me it started waaaay before that in covid times.. I remember the team coming to my house to train me for the chitoor slang to walking on the sets of Pushpa on day 1 the release of Pushpa 1 and then starting of Pushpa 2 shooting for Pushpa 2 for sooooo long.. everyday for the last 5 years talking about Pushpa..”
The actress concluded her note by mentioning, “I am so proud of us! I am so proud of how we started to how we are today! Team Pushpa !! I love you! I love how hard we’ve worked.. I love what we’ve created today and I love how in sync we all are! I love it! Everyone works hard but success comes because of the people you surround yourself with. And Pushpa is the perfect example of it.”
Allu Arjun, Rashmika’s upcoming film
Pushpa 2, co-starring Fahadh Faasil, released on December 5, 2024. According to reports, Rashmika and Allu Arjun will be reuniting for Atlee’s sci-fi film also featuring Deepika Padukone.
