Darbhanga: Shravan Das, a storyteller from Mithilanchal region, was arrested on Monday for the alleged rape of a minor. Darbhanga Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jagunath Reddy said that the arrest was made by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rajiv Kumar. Acting on intelligence, a joint team of Mahila police station, Laheriyasarai police station and other nearby police stations caught the accused from Housing Board Colony.”

According to the FIR registered in the women’s police station, the accused is accused of sexually exploiting a minor girl for a long time on the pretext of marriage. In the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, it has also been alleged that the accused also got the minor aborted. SSP Jagunath Reddy said- The role of Mouni Baba, who is called the narrator’s associate and guru, is also being investigated. Mouni Baba is currently absconding.
Darbhanga SSP said- The accused is being interrogated in depth and further legal action is going on in the case.
