On Saturday, the court gave a historic verdict in the sex scandal case that created a stir in Karnataka politics. Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of sexual exploitation, rape, threats and digital offenses.
Apart from this, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 11 lakh on him, which will be given as compensation to the victim.
The decisive evidence of the case made saris and videos became a simple sari most important evidence in this case. The victim told the court that she was wearing the same sari when she raped her by Javal Revanna. She kept this sari safe, on which sperm marks were found in forensic examination. Apart from this, the victim also recorded a video of the incident, in which Prajwal’s face was clearly visible. These evidence proved decisive in the case.
The victim said that between the years 2020 and 2021, the covered Revanna used to force her to do obscene acts on video calls. When he refused, he threatened his mother and said that if he did not cooperate, he would take away his father’s job and would not hesitate to rape her.
After the sexual abuse case of the victim’s mother and other women came to light, the victim revealed that Prajwal and her father HD Revanna not only raped her mother, but also sexually abused other women working in her house. The victim’s mother told that HD Revanna often called women in the store room and used to do obscene acts with them.
The atrocities on the family: Job hit, the victim had to sell the land that this harassment that lasted for two years destroyed her family. His father’s job was snatched, the land had to be sold and the family had to face serious mental torture. Her mother stayed away from home for months and used to call only at midnight.
“We were intimidated, but now got justice” in the court the victim said, “We were unable to tell the truth in fear, but when the mother saw the video of the rape, she told the police everything. The court’s decision today assured us that justice is alive. If something happens, we will be responsible for the responsible Revanna and her family.”
