Ranveer Singh threat case: Bollywood woke up to a chilling twist this week. What began as a threat message to Ranveer Singh’s team has now snowballed into a full-blown criminal probe. In a latest development, the Mumbai Crime Branch suspects a possible link to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Lawrence Bishnoi link emerges in Ranveer Singh threat case

According to sources, a WhatsApp voice note demanding Rs 1 crore was allegedly sent to Ranveer Singh’s manager. The audio message reportedly contained an extortion threat directed at the actor. During an initial review, investigators noticed that the voice in the clip closely resembles that of Harry Boxer. He is believed to be an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

While the resemblance has raised eyebrows, officials are proceeding cautiously. They confirmed that a detailed technical and forensic analysis is currently underway to verify the sender’s identity. Police want solid evidence before drawing conclusions.

Investigators suspect the message may have been routed from abroad using a VPN to conceal its origin. To dig deeper, Mumbai Police have sought Interpol’s assistance in tracing the digital footprint of the voice note. The international angle has added another layer of complexity to the case.

Links to Rohit Shetty house firing incident?

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch is also probing a separate but possibly linked incident, the recent firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. Five individuals, including Aman Marote (27), Aditya Gayaki (19), Siddharth Yenpure (20), Samarth Pomaji (18) and Swapnil Sakat (23), have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Shubham Lonkar, identified as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has been named as a wanted accused.

Investigators revealed that the shooter allegedly used a high-quality country-made firearm and discharged five rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. Forensic experts are currently analysing whether the bullets were 7.62×39 mm or 7.62×51 mm. Police believe the shooter may not have acted alone and are examining the possible involvement of additional gang members.
