Mumbai: Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor recently shared a thrilling anecdote about his marriage proposal to Alia Bhatt, which took place in Kenya’s Masai Mara in 2022.
Speaking on Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, Kapoor revealed the romantic moment was unexpectedly accompanied by three lions just 100 feet away.
Ranbir meticulously planned the proposal, even tipping his guide and driver to stop in the middle of the jungle. He had a ring ready and intended to go down on one knee, ensuring photographs were taken from a distance for Alia, who he affectionately called his ‘lioness’. “I had already tipped my guide, who was also my driver, and told him to stop somewhere in the middle of the jungle. I had brought a ring, thinking I would get down on one knee and he could take a photograph from a distance, because girls love photographs and posting them on Instagram. So, I thought this was very important for Alia,” Ranbir recounted.
He humorously described feeling like a “mouse” in front of his “lioness” while making the grand gesture, especially with actual lions observing nearby. This extraordinary experience, he noted, will forever be etched in his memory. Ranbir and Alia’s love story blossomed on the sets of their film ‘Brahmastra’. They tied the knot in April 2022 and welcomed their daughter, Raha, in November of the same year. This special ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati Diwali Special’ episode is set to air on October 29 and 30.
