Ramnagar Assembly Election 2025: Will BJP’s fort remain safe again or will Congress show a shocking game? Who will the public choose between the Dalit vote bank and the charisma of Bhagirathi Devi? This election mystery is still under wraps.
Ramnagar Assembly Election 2025: Ramnagar Assembly Seat is located in West Champaran district of Bihar. This seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and BJP has dominated here for a long time. BJP has won seven times in the eight elections held since 1990. This is the reason why it is called the fort of BJP. Now the question is whether this trend will continue in Ramnagar Assembly elections 2025 or will opposition parties like Congress be able to create a new equation?
2020 assembly elections: Bhagirathi Devi’s victory
In 2020, BJP candidate Bhagirathi Devi won by defeating Congress candidate Rajesh Ram. Bhagirathi Devi got 75,423 votes, while Rajesh Ram got 59,627 votes. The victory margin was 15,796 votes. A total of 11 candidates were in the fray, but the main contest was between BJP and Congress.

Bhagirathi Devi (BJP) also won in 2015. He got 82,166 votes, while Congress’s Purnamasi Ram got 64,178 votes. The victory margin was about 17,988 votes. This election further strengthened the hold of BJP.
2010 assembly elections: beginning of BJP’s rise
In 2010, Bhagirathi Devi (BJP) won by 51,968 votes defeating Naresh Ram of Congress (22,202 votes). The victory margin was 29,766 votes. Since then, BJP has had almost absolute rule over Ramnagar.
Mathematics of caste equations and politics
Ramnagar assembly constituency is reserved for Scheduled Castes. There is a large population of Dalits and backward castes here. BJP has consistently received strong support from the Dalit community. Congress and other parties have been trying to strengthen their vote bank here, but have not been successful.
BJP’s dominance and challenge
Bhagirathi Devi has been elected MLA from this seat for three consecutive times. Before him, BJP’s Chandramohan Roy had won the elections four times. Since 2000, Congress has not been able to return to this seat. The question is whether BJP’s winning streak will continue in 2025 or will some new shocking result emerge?
