Mandodari was married to Lankapati Ravana. Mandodari is known as the wife of Ravana. She was also a devoted woman.

Besides, she was also a great devotee of Lord Shiva. It is said that it was because of Shiva’s boon that she got married to Ravana. Vibhishan had told the secret of Ravana’s defeat to Lord Shri Ram, but do you know that Ravana’s wife Madondari was also the cause of Ravana’s death?

Ravana could have died only by a divine arrow

When there was a war between Lord Rama and Ravana, Lord Lankapati was beheaded many times, but still Ravana did not die. Then Vibhishana told Lord Shri Ram the secret of Ravana’s defeat. Ravana could have died only by a divine arrow. He could have been killed by hitting an arrow in his navel.

Ravana had received this divine arrow as a boon from Lord Brahma. Ravana had fixed that arrow in the pillar right in front of his throne inside the royal palace. Apart from him, only his wife Mandodari knew about Ravana doing this. Hanuman ji had gone to Ravana’s palace as an astrologer. After this he won the trust of Mandodari with his wisdom.

Unknowingly, but Mandodari became the cause of her husband’s death.

After this Mandodari told Hanuman ji about that divine arrow. Then Hanuman ji came in his real form and broke that pillar with one punch and took out the arrow and after coming to the battlefield, gave that arrow to Lord Ram. Lord Rama killed Ravana with the same divine arrow. Therefore, it can be said that though unknowingly, Mandodari had also become the cause of her husband’s death.
