Ramandeep Yadav, who gained attention for his performance as Rajjo in the crime thriller Raakh, is now appearing as Kinnu in Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot. Speaking to IANS, the actor said he is thankful for the opportunity to take on a character that is significantly different from his previous work.
Ramandeep explained that actors naturally look for opportunities that allow them to demonstrate different sides of their craft. After playing a particular type of character, he said performers want to move beyond familiar territory and show audiences that they can handle contrasting roles. For him, Kinnu has provided exactly that opportunity.
Actor Wants To Avoid Being Typecast
Ramandeep said finding roles that offer genuine variation can be difficult, particularly at the beginning of an acting career. He noted that once an actor becomes associated with a particular character type or genre, getting an opportunity to move into another space is not always easy.
The actor said he was especially grateful that Kinnu came along after Rajjo because the two characters allow him to explore different aspects of his acting. Rather than repeating the same style of performance, Ramandeep wants to continue challenging himself and demonstrate a wider range on screen.
Ramandeep Is Also Interested In Romantic Roles
While discussing his career choices, Ramandeep made it clear that he is not planning to completely avoid the kind of roles he has already performed. Instead, he sees returning to a familiar genre as another creative challenge, particularly when it gives him the chance to bring something fresh to the character.
The actor also expressed an interest in exploring his romantic side through future projects. He said that, as an artist, he would like to keep experimenting with different characters and situations rather than limiting himself to one particular image.

Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot is a horror-comedy series that combines elements of folklore, mystery and adventure. The show stars Asha Negi as Alisha “Ali” Nigam and Vishal Vashishtha as Baba, alongside Ramandeep and other cast members.
The story follows Ali, a neuropsychology expert with a strong scientific outlook, whose search for her missing father takes her into a world filled with unexplained events and supernatural mysteries. The series draws from the folklore and mysterious settings associated with Central India while blending them with an adventure-driven narrative.
The 40-episode series premiered on JioHotstar on September 11.
From Raakh To A New Television Character
Ramandeep previously received attention for his portrayal of Rajjo in Raakh. His character begins as a soft-spoken pickpocket before gradually becoming involved in darker developments within the crime thriller.
Raakh features Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, Akash Makhija, Rakesh Bedi, Ramandeep Yadav and Aamir Bashir. The series draws inspiration from the Ranga-Billa case and follows the abduction of two siblings alongside the subsequent police investigation.
