What is Iftar?
Iftar is the time when the fast is broken after sunset. Iftar is done with Maghrib Azaan. According to tradition, the fast is broken with dates and water. After this, Namaz is offered and then food is eaten. Iftar is not only the time of breaking the fast, but also a symbol of mutual brotherhood and love. Mass iftar is organized at many places.
What is Taraweeh prayer?
Taraweeh is a special namaz which is offered after Isha namaz in the month of Ramzan. This namaz is offered only in Ramzan. Quran Sharif is recited in this. In many mosques the entire Quran is read throughout the month. The purpose of Taraweeh is to devote more time to worshiping Allah and attain spiritual peace.
