Ram Navami 2026: Today the holy festival of Ram Navami is being celebrated. This festival is celebrated every year on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. According to mythology, on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, Shri Ram was born from the womb of Queen Kaushalya to King Dasharatha of Adhyodhya. Worship of Lord Shri Ram on the day of Ram Navami is considered especially fruitful.
Lord Ram is called Maryada Purushottam. Even after spending 14 years in exile, he did not abandon his conduct like dignity, kindness, truth, compassion and religion. Due to which he was called the best king. There is an incident in Sunderkand of Valmiki Ramayana, where Hanuman ji has told about the form of Lord Shri Ram to convince Mother Sita. According to this verse, Hanuman ji tells Mother Sita that Lord Shri Ram has four lines on his forehead. These lines show the long life of God. The height of Shri Ram is 96 Angul (about six feet). 14 parts of their body (like eyes, ears, elbows, knees etc.) are exactly the same. Prabhu’s teeth are very beautiful. When the Lord walks, the power like that of a lion, tiger, elephant and Nandi is seen in His movement.
Why did Shri Ram take incarnation?
Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the protector of the world, took his seventh incarnation in the form of Lord Shri Ram in Tretayuga. The incarnation of Lord Shri Ram was for the re-establishment of religion on earth. Because the pot of sins of Lanka’s king Ravana was full. Lord Rama took incarnation and performed leelas and finally killed Ravana and re-established religion on earth.
