Tirtharaj Prayag told King Vikramaditya about Ayodhya which was now unknown. With time the splendor of this place had ended. Tirtharaja Prayag asked King Vikramaditya to revive Ayodhya. Also told about its importance etc.
When King Vikramaditya came to Ayodhya, he forgot about the mentioned place of Prayagraj Tirtha. Then a monk came to him and said, ‘You call a white cow and the place where milk starts flowing from the udder of the cow on its own, consider that as the birth place of Lord Shri Ram.’
King Vikramaditya did as per the advice of the Brahmin and after walking some distance, milk started falling from the udder of the cow at one place. King Vikramaditya built a huge temple of Lord Shri Ram at the same place. This temple was so huge that it was visible even from a distance of 80 kilometers.
In this way, King Vikramaditya of Ujjaini not only returned Ayodhya to its lost glory and also revived it. The temple that was established here before the present temple was built by King Vikramaditya, which was demolished by foreign invaders.
