Story of Ram’s exile
Ram Vanvas Katha: Lord Ram went to exile in Treta Yuga. Mother Sita and younger brother Lakshman were also with him. Mother Kaikeyi had asked for two promises from King Dasharatha, the first of which was the throne for her son Bharat and the second was the exile of Lord Rama for 14 years, but in Hindu religious scriptures, Lord Rama’s exile is not only considered to be the result of the boon of Mother Kaikeyi, but there are many other reasons behind it and the karma of previous births.
One of the main reasons is said to be the curse received by King Dasharatha. Let us know the story of the curse due to which Lord Ram was forced to go to the forest. According to Srimad Bhagavatam, once King Dasharatha went to the forest for hunting. King Dasharatha knew how to shoot arrows. He could aim just by listening to the sound. Once he heard the sound of filling water.
Curse given to King Dasharatha
They thought that some wild animal was drinking water. After this he released a taunting arrow in that direction. Shravan Kumar was collecting water for his parents in the river. King Dasharatha’s arrow hit Shravan Kumar. After this, King Dasharatha reached Shravan Kumar, but by then he had died. After this, Shravan Kumar’s parents, saddened by the death of their son, cursed King Dasharatha.
Relationship between curse and exile
Shravan Kumar’s parents said that just as we are sacrificing our lives in agony due to the separation of our son, in the same way you will also die due to the separation of your son. According to the curse, King Dashrath could have died only due to separation from his son. Lord Ram had to leave Ayodhya after Mother Kaikeyi asked for 14 years of Lord’s exile. Due to this separation from his son, King Dasharatha lost his life.
