According to the Mahabharata, Maharishi Ved Vyas blessed Gandhari to be 100 sons, as a result of which Duryodhana, Sorrows etc. became 100. Apart from these 100 sons, Gandhari also had a daughter, named Slave. King Dhritarashtra got his daughter Darla married to King Jayadratha of Sindhidesh. Jayadratha was killed by Arjuna in the Mahabharata war.
