Rajpal Yadav expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for allowing him to present his side in the cheque-bounce case after 14 years. “First of all, I would like to express my heartiest gratitude to the Honorable Supreme Court for giving me the privilege to present my side for the first time in 14 years. Yadav questioned the financial claims against him, alleging that the dispute involved substantial monetary losses. “If this were a matter of Rs 5 crore, it could have been resolved. But the issue is of Rs 22 crore. After wiping out Rs 22 crore of mine, I am being accused… I am an actor of the public, I go among the people,” he said.

He also questioned the loan’s licensing and interest rates, asking whether the opposing company was authorised to issue the loan in 2010 and whether it was an NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company). “Is there any law in India where a bank gives a loan at 12–15 per cent interest, while here the interest is 4 to 5 times over?” he asked.
