Rajnath’s stern warning to Pakistan: Any misadventure amid Iran war will draw ‘unprecedented, decisive’ response

New Delhi: Sounding a stern warning to Pakistan against trying any “misadventure” against the backdrop of the Iran conflict, defence minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday India’s response will be “unprecedented” and “decisive” in such an event. The warning was issued days ahead of the first anniversary of the 2025 Pahalgam attack and India’s Operation Sindoor.

Rajnath was speaking at the Sainik Samman Sammelan in poll-bound Kerala on Thursday. “Our neighbour, in the current situation, can commit any misadventure. If it does so, India’s action will be unprecedented and decisive,” the defence minister said, underlining that Operation Sindoor was not over yet.

He reminded Pakistan how Indian forces had brought it to its knees in only 22 minutes during Operation Sindoor. “Whether it was the surgical strikes after the Uri attack, the air strikes following Pulwama, or now Operation Sindoor… we have delivered a strong blow to terrorism,” Rajnath added.

‘India is prepared to handle any energy crisis’

Rajnath also said that Indian Navy ships were safely escorting the country’s tankers via the Strait of Hormuz. During his address, Rajnath also rubbished rumours of fuel crisis in the country. He said: “…Some people want to cause panic by spreading lies over this conflict in West Asia. Neither is there a shortage of petrol-diesel in the country, nor a shortage of gas. India is prepared to handle any energy crisis.”

Hitting out at the Opposition, he pointed out that rather than standing with the country during this crisis, they are indulging in dirty politics.

He underlined, “A serious war is ongoing in West Asia. We are closely monitoring the situation. Many people from Kerala live and work in these Gulf countries, but we should not worry at all because we will take every measure to ensure the protection and security of our Indian citizens. We are fully prepared.”
