Rajiv Pratap Rudy, along with his panel, sweeps Constitution Club elections

BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy has won the election for the post of secretary (administration) of Constitution Club of India, defeating Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, who happens to be his party colleague.

Speaking on the outcome of the election, Rudy credited his panel for the victory by a margin of over a 100 votes. All the members of his panel, from different parties, won the elections.

Other office bearers include Secretary (Culture) Tiruchi Siva and Rajiv Shukla, Secretary (Sports), who were declared elected unopposed on July 10.

Addressing reporters, Rudy said of the 707 votes polled, he secured 391.

The contest between Rudy and Balyan was followed by intense campaigning with parliamentarians from different parties reaching out to the club to cast their votes.

Rudy, a former Union minister, has served as the Secretary (Administration) of the CCI for over two decades. He has been credited with revamping the club of the parliamentarians and also former MPs, during his tenure.

There are eleven executive members in the panel that include Naresh Agarwal, Prasun Banerjee, Shrirang Appa Barne, Kalikesh N. Singh Deo, Pradeep Gandhi, Jasbir Singh Gill, Deepender Singh Hooda, Naveen Jindal, N K Premchandran, Pradip Kumar Verma and Akshay Yadav, as per the CCI notice.

CCI has emerged as a forum providing a platform for interaction amongst the former and present MPs.
