Ticketing system strengthened
Indian Railways has taken a big step to make online ticket booking secure. 3.02 crore suspicious user IDs have been blocked by Railways from January 2025 till now. So that black marketing of tickets can be stopped. Now anti-bot system has been installed in Tatkal ticket booking, so that only genuine passengers can buy tickets. Aadhaar based OTP verification for online Tatkal tickets has been started in 322 trains, while in 211 trains this facility has also been implemented at reservation counters.
The effect of these decisions taken by the government is also visible. The time to get Tatkal tickets has increased in 95% of the 96 popular trains, which means now passengers are able to get confirmed Tatkal tickets more easily than before. To avoid fraud, officials keep telling from time to time not to trust those travel websites which guarantee to get confirmed tickets. Some websites offer schemes like 3 times refund in the name of premium service, but be careful while using such offers.

Be careful, stay safe
While booking train tickets, always use the official website or app of IRCTC only. Download the app only from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Do not trust any other website or app, otherwise you may become a victim of fraud. If you ever feel that you have been cheated, immediately complain to the cyber crime cell.
Fraudsters lure you with cheap tickets by sending messages or emails to trap you. They send such links which when clicked take you to a fake website or app. As soon as you put your information there, they cheat you. Many times these people even send fake messages in the name of big companies, so that you trust them.
