Indian Railways is going to implement new rules of online ticket booking from October 1. Now in the first 15 minutes of opening the General Reservation, only passengers with Aadhaar Verified IRCTC account will be able to book tickets. This will prevent agents and benefit common passengers.

Every day millions of passengers travel by train in the country. In such a situation, Indian Railways continue to implement new rules keeping in mind the convenience of passengers. In this episode, from October 1, the Railways has decided to make a big change related to ticket booking. This new rule has brought relief for those travelers who book tickets online from the IRCTC app and website.

Why this change in ticket booking?

IRCTC found that in online ticket booking, agents book a large amount of tickets and create difficulties for common passengers. Due to this, it becomes even more difficult for passengers to get confirmed tickets. To curb this, the Railways has implemented a new rule, so that the rigging of brokers and agents can be found and common passengers can get priority.

What is the new rule of ticket booking?

  • Now as soon as the general ticket reservation opens, only the passengers will be able to book tickets for the first 15 minutes, whose IRCTC account will be verified by Aadhaar.
  • Within these 15 minutes, booking will not be done with agents or accounts without base verification.
  • Aadhaar will be reserved for verified passengers from 8 am to 8:15 am.
  • After 8:15, the rest of the passengers will also be able to book tickets.

What will be the benefit of railway passengers?

  • The possibility of getting a ticket without depending on the agent without a common passenger will be greatly increased.
  • The online ticket booking process will be more transparent.
  • Agents will be prevented from selling tickets on a large scale and selling them in Black.
  • Just like Tatkal tickets, passengers will have a better opportunity to get confirmed tickets.

This step of Indian Railways has been taken keeping in mind the convenience and trust of the passengers. This will make ticket booking more secure and reliable for travel. Also, problems like fraud and ticket blacking will also be controlled.
