Rahul Vaidya on becoming first singer to perform at Lalbaugcha Raja: ‘There cannot be a greater honour’ | Exclusive

New Delhi: Singer Rahul Vaidya has become the first ever singer to perform live at Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati Pandal. The singer and laughter chef contestant feels very special that he has got a chance to be the first one to sing live at Mumbai’s most popular pandal.

Reacting to the honour, the singer told News9 Digital, “Performing at Lalbaugcha Raja is by far one of the most special feelings I have experienced. I do a lot of performances on a regular basis, but this has got to be the most special performance ever. And it is one that I am most excited about. Couldn’t have been luckier to be the first artist ever to have performed at the Lalbaugcha Raja. There cannot be a greater honour than that.”

Rahul recalls his first singing experience was also at a Ganapati Pandal. He said, “It was way back in 1994 or 1995 so I have a deep-rooted connection with Ganapati and Ganesh Chaturthi. My singing is somehow connected to it, and all credit goes to Ganapati because that’s where I started singing from.”

He further added, “Honestly, I love devotional music. I love singing devotional songs. It connects me with my inner self , and I enjoy it from the bottom of my heart. I really like singing devotional songs. I have released a Ganapati Aarti, which has been received very well by the audiences. And considering that, I have made a lot of other Aartis also. So yes, I’m enjoying my outing at devotional performances.”

Rahul Vaidya also has a tip for those in the Bigg Boss house: He wants them to be original and people will connect with you. Rahul Vaidya is not sure when the Laughter Chef next season will return but wants it to happen as it is closest to his heart.
