Rahul Gandhi Voter Rights Yatra: Rahul Gandhi will start ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar from August 17. The purpose of this visit is to protest against the removal of more than 65 lakh names from the voter list under SIR and to make voters aware of their rights.
Bihar Chunav 2025: The Election Commission has removed the names of more than 65 lakh people from the voter list in Bihar under special intensive revision (SIR). On this issue, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will start the voter rights journey in Bihar from tomorrow i.e. August 17. The visit will include many leaders of the Bharat alliance including Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar. State Congress President Rajesh Ram reached Aurangabad on Saturday to take stock of the preparations for the voter rights yatra. Rajesh Ram said that Rahul Gandhi’s visit will enter Aurangabad border at around 5 pm on August 17. He will be given a grand welcome in Barun. After this, Rahul will reach Ramesh Chowk in the district headquarters. There will be a public meeting here at 7:30 pm. After the public meeting, Rahul will go by road to Babhndiha in Amba where he will take a night’s rest in the playground.

The next morning, i.e. on August 18, Rahul will address a gathering at Amba Chowk, after which he will leave for Dev. After having lunch in Dev, Rahul Gandhi will leave for Bodh Gaya. The state president said that on the pretext of SIR, depriving 65.64 lakh voters of franchise in Bihar is not a robbery, but robbery. The opposition and movement of the Congress party against this will continue from road to house.

Election Commission spokesperson becomes a team of BJP leaders
Taking a dig at the Election Commission, he said that the Commission should answer the questions raised by the Congress party and our leader Rahul Gandhi regarding irregularities in SIR, but the Commission is not answering. On the contrary, BJP leaders are giving wrong answers to our questions from the Commission by becoming the spokesperson of the Election Commission. He said that to protect the rights of voters in the name of SIR and to secure the rights of voters, the India alliance is starting a statewide ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ from Sasaram in Rohtas district from August 17. All the big leaders of all six components of the India alliance – RJD, CPI, CPI, CPI (Male), VIP – will be involved in this journey.

Voter Rights Yatra program
Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra will start from Sasaram on 17 August and end on 1 September at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. During this, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav will visit 23 to 30 districts of Bihar via Gaya, Munger, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Purnia, Madhubani, Darbhanga, West Champaran etc. During this visit, voters will have direct contact through public meetings and dialogues. During this 16 -day visit, Rahul will stay on the streets of Bihar on 20 and 25 August. He will also take a night’s rest in many districts. Let us tell you that this visit of Rahul Gandhi is taking place with a claim of spreading awareness against alleged irregularities in the voter list under Bihar SIR and giving the message of protecting democracy.

Rahul Gandhi will offer prayers at the Dev Sun Temple of Aurangabad
He informed that on August 17, the yatra will start from Sasaram and come to Aurangabad, where Rahul Gandhi and Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav will address the gathering at Ramesh Chowk. The night of the yatra will be resting on the same day at Babhhandi Sports Ground of Kutumba block of Aurangabad. The next day after the meeting at Amba Chowk on August 18, the yatra will reach Dev via Telhara, Patal Ganga, Dev Bypass Road, Purana Police Station, where there will be some rest of the journey. During this, Rahul Gandhi will offer prayers at the Dev Sun Temple. Subsequently, the journey will enter Rafiganj via Shivganj, War Bazaar and enter the district. All the preparations for the journey in Aurangabad are almost complete.
The journey is not an election journey, but an attempt to empower voters
The state president said that this yatra is not an election journey, but a journey to empower voters purely. There will be no talk of election in this journey. Only the rights of voters will be discussed. There will be no election promise. The game in the name of SIR will be exposed. Voters will be told about their rights. They will be organized for their rights.
