Raghunathpur Assembly Election 2025: Raghunathpur assembly seat falls in Siwan district and is located at assembly number 108. This seat is known for changing political trends in every election. In 2010, BJP’s Vikram Kunwar had won, but in 2015, RJD’s Harishankar Yadav won the seat in the wave of grand alliance. In 2020, Harishankar Yadav again won for RJD and defeated Manoj Kumar Singh of BJP.

2020 Raghunathpur Assembly Election

  • Winner: Harishankar Yadav (RJD) – 67,757 votes
  • Second place: Manoj Kumar Singh (LJP) – 49,792 votes
  • Vote difference: 17,965

Note: RJD strengthened its hold and defeated BJP and other rivals by a huge margin.

Social and caste equation of Raghunathpur

Raghunathpur Assembly has the highest number of Rajput voters and comes in the traditional vote bank of BJP. Yadav community is the core vote bank of RJD. Apart from this, Dalits, Kushwaha, Muslims and extremely backward classes also play a decisive role. The total voters are approximately 3,15,216, of which males are 1,63,105, females are 1,52,094 and others are 17 voters.

Three criminal cases are registered against Harishankar Yadav in the records of the Election Commission. His assets are Rs 71 lakh and loan is Rs 2 lakh. He does not have any educational degree. They are just literate.

There is expected to be a tough contest between BJP and RJD on Raghunathpur seat in 2025. BJP’s Manoj Kumar Singh will try to maintain his hold, while RJD’s Harishankar Yadav or some new face may challenge. Muslim and Yadav vote bank will play a decisive role.
