French aerospace company Dassault Aviation has announced doubling of its engineering activities in India. The company has inaugurated its new Dassault Aircraft Service India – Engineering Center in Pune, Maharashtra. The company said that this step is another big step towards fulfilling its promises made under India’s Make in India policy. This new plant further strengthens Dassault’s long partnership with India’s aerospace sector.
According to the company, expanding the engineering center will increase its capacity to more than 150 engineers. This shows that Dassault Aviation is serious about developing advanced technology in India and promoting local expertise. This will benefit the company’s own operations as well as its supply chain in India and around the world.
Will increase capacity in India
Dassault said that the expansion of the Pune center is part of its strategy to strengthen design, engineering and industrial capabilities in India and increase cooperation with Indian partners and suppliers. The company also said that this step is also an important initiative towards fulfilling the offset obligations related to the Rafale deal with the Indian Air Force.
