If this happens then this match may have to be cancelled. In such a situation, both the teams will have to make do by distributing 1 point each.

Now the question is that if this match is cancelled, which team will gain or lose? Talking about benefits, it will prove to be better for both the teams because at present both have 4-4 points. If the match is cancelled, India and Pakistan will have 5 points each and both will qualify for Super-8. Talking about losses, it will prove to be a loss-making deal for America and Netherlands. Especially USA will lose its chance to reach Super-8 for the second time in a row. Actually, Netherlands and USA have 2 points each and now only 1 match is left for both of them. Even if both these matches are won, there will be 4 points each but it will not be enough.
On the other hand, if the result of the India-Pakistan match is known then one of the teams will reach the next round but the other team will have to face competition from Netherlands and USA. However, the path for Netherlands is difficult because its last match is against India. Whereas USA has to face Namibia in its last match, which has not won a single match till now. If Team India defeats Pakistan on February 15 and then Namibia also somehow pulls off an upset by defeating Pakistan, while itself losing to USA, then the American team will reach the next round.
