Quant Small Cap Fund raises stake in Shipping Corp, NCC, and 8 others

has increased its stake in 10 stocks which includes  , Welspun Corporation, .

The fund added 16.93 lakh shares of Shipping Corporation of India taking the total number of shares to 43.49 lakh shares in April against 26.56 lakh shares in March. It added 17.72 lakh shares of NCC to the portfolio in April.


Around 8.57 lakh shares of Castrol India were added to the portfolio on a monthly basis which increased the total number of shares to 31 lakh in April against 22.43 lakh in March. The  added 2.22 lakh shares of Welspun Corporation and 63,215 shares of Welspun India were added to the portfolio in the mentioned month.

The exposure in no stock was reduced in the said time period whereas the stake in 74 stocks remained unchanged which includes  , Just Dial, Jana Small Finance Bank, Reliance Industries, and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.

Three new stocks were added to the portfolio in April. Around 2.17 crore shares of National Building Corporation were added to the portfolio, followed by 33.79 lakh shares of Delhivery and 2 lakh shares of Emami were added.

A complete exit from three stocks was made which included Bandhan Bank, BLS International Services, and Tata Chemicals. Around 24.48 lakh shares of Bandhan Bank, 13.95 lakh shares of BLS International Services, and 8.69 lakh shares of Tata Chemicals were sold out from the portfolio in April.

Post the new entry and complete exit, the small cap fund had around 87 stocks in its portfolio in April, the same as in March.


According to the monthly release by the fund house, Quant Small Cap Fund invests majority of its portfolio in small-cap stocks and the portfolio is constructed from both medium-term and long-term perspective and this scheme is apt for long-term investors. The bulk of the portfolio is invested in high growth companies with attractive valuation and is relatively under-owned.

Quant Small Cap Fund had an AUM of Rs 26,222 crore as on April 30, 2025. The primary investment objective of the scheme is to seek to generate capital appreciation and provide long-term growth opportunities by investing in a portfolio of small cap companies.

The scheme is managed by Sandeep Tandon, Ankit Pande, Varun Pattani, Ayusha Kumbhat, Yug Tibrewal, Sameer Kate, Sanjeev Sharma. The performance of the scheme is benchmarked against NIFTY SMALLCAP 250 TRI.
