This brutal murder was committed in the name of caste in Nanded district of Maharashtra. The girl’s father and brothers together shot and beat a 25-year-old boy named Saksham Tate to death. Saksham and Aanchal Mamidwar were in a relationship for the last few years. The girl told the media, ‘The family had agreed to the marriage. He promised. We were together for the last three years. We had many dreams. My brothers had assured me that they would arrange the marriage. But at the last moment they betrayed us.

Saksham was a close friend of Aanchal’s brother Himesh Mamidwar. The acquaintance that started as brother’s friend later turned into love. When Aanchal’s brothers and father found out that the two were going to get married, they attacked Tate. In this attack on Thursday, Tate was badly beaten, shot in the head and later his head was crushed with a stone. Tate died at the scene. Later, after reaching Saksham’s funeral, Aanchal marries his dead body. Police have said that both Saksham and Himesh had criminal background.
