Putrada Ekadashi 2025: When Is It in August? Date, Timings and Auspicious Yogas Revealed

Putrada Ekadashi holds special significance in Sanatan Dharma. This festival is observed every year on the Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan (Shravan).

On this day, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped, and devotees observe a fast dedicated to them. Observing this fast is believed to grant infallible and everlasting rewards, and with the blessings of Lord Vishnu, one attains Moksha.

According to religious belief, observing the Putrada Ekadashi fast can bless childless couples with an offspring. Newly married couples may also undertake this fast. It is believed that even common devotees who observe this vrat (fast) are granted their heartfelt desires, and they receive divine blessings from Lakshmi-Narayan.

Putrada Ekadashi Shubh Muhurat

According to the Vedic calendar, the Ekadashi tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan will begin at 11:41 AM on 4th August and will end at 1:12 PM on 5th August. As per the Sanatan tradition, the day of observance is determined based on the sunrise (Udaya Tithi). Hence, Putrada Ekadashi will be observed on 5th August 2025. Devotees may bathe and perform rituals in honour of Lakshmi-Narayan Ji at their convenience during this period.

Putrada Ekadashi Parana Timing

The breaking of the fast (Parana) will take place on 6th August. The Parana timing is from 5:45 AM to 8:26 AM. During this period, devotees should bathe and perform devotional worship of Lakshmi-Narayan Ji. Afterwards, they may donate food and conclude the fast.

Putrada Ekadashi Shubh Yoga

A rare Indra Yoga will coincide with Putrada Ekadashi. Additionally, Bhadraavas Yoga will also form on this day. Bhadra will remain in Swarga Lok until 11:43 AM, after which it will move to Patal Lok. Worshipping Lakshmi-Narayan Ji during the time Bhadra resides in Swarga or Patal is said to bless devotees with their desired boons.
