Many districts of the state have been badly affected, in which houses were submerged, farm submerged in water and livestock were killed. More than 30 people have lost their lives in this disaster so far. At such a time, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha has approved Rs 3.25 crore from his MP fund for the flood affected people for relief and rehabilitation works.

Raghav Chadha announced to help the flood victims in Gurdaspur and Amritsar districts through this relief amount. He expressed solidarity from the people of the state through video appeal and prayed for the safety of all. The MP clarified that it is “money from Punjab, for the people of Punjab” and will be used only in relief and flood safety works.

How will relief work be done in Gurdaspur and Amritsar?

2.75 crore rupees will be spent for repair and strengthening of flood safety embankments in Gurdaspur district. This will ensure safety of villages with future floods. 50 lakh rupees have been allocated for immediate relief and rehabilitation works of the affected families in Amritsar district. Raghav Chadha said that relief and rehabilitation works are immediately needed in flood affected districts. He also appealed to the central government to provide maximum assistance and resolved to raise the issue in Parliament.

The MP expressed solidarity with the people of the state and prayed for safety of all through video appeal. He demanded maximum cooperation from the Center and said that immediate relief and rehabilitation is necessary for flood affected people.

12 districts of Punjab have been badly affected by floods, while a total of 23 districts have been declared affected. Thousands of people have been displaced, the houses have been destroyed and the agricultural land has been submerged in water. There is heavy loss of livestock.
