Pune Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph in isolated parts of Pune between May 25 to May 28. Light rain and thundershowers are expected during this period, while some areas may also witness dry thunderstorm conditions.
Pune is likely to experience a warm day ahead, with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 36 degrees C. Night temperatures may settle between 24 degrees C and 25 degrees C, offering slight relief. However, humidity levels are expected to remain high in the morning, making the weather feel sticky and uncomfortable despite the marginal dip in temperature, according to Pune Mirror.
Meanwhile, in Amravati, the IMD has issued a red alert as heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at many places between May 25 and May 28. Isolated areas may also experience warm night conditions during this period.
In view of the rising temperatures and extreme weather conditions, authorities have issued a heat action advisory. Residents have been urged to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and stay hydrated by drinking enough water regularly, even if they do not feel thirsty, to prevent dehydration.
People have also been advised to wear light-coloured, loose cotton clothes and cover their heads with a wet cloth, hat, or umbrella while stepping out during peak afternoon hours. Outdoor workers, in particular, have been asked to avoid direct sunlight during the hottest parts of the day.
