Pune Rape Case: The IT professional who earlier claimed that she was raped by a courier delivery agent introduced an unexpected twist in the case.
In her statement to police, the woman said that she angrily filed a police complaint against her friend for allegedly forcing himself on her. The woman has confessed to initially giving false information to the police.
According to the police, the woman was not ready to have sexual intercourse that day, but her friend allegedly forced it on her. Additionally, the 22-year-old woman first met the man at a community event and became friends, sources said. She did not meet the man for the first time on Wednesday, as they had met several times in the past at the woman’s house. Previously, the man delivered several parcels to her and came to her flat when she was alone.
According to the sources, “She said she wasn’t ready for sexual intercourse that day, but her friend forced her into it anyway. So out of anger, she filed a complaint with the police that she was raped.”
Earlier, in her complaint to police, the woman said a man posing as a delivery agent entered her flat in the Kondhwa area when she was alone and forced himself on her. She also mentioned that before leaving, the man clicked a picture in which her back and parts of her face were seen, and he threatened to release them on social media if she filed a complaint.
When the police detained the suspect, who was a highly qualified professional, they found out that the woman herself clicked the selfie, edited it and allegedly typed the threatening message.
According to the probe, the man works at a reputable company and both families know each other.
