New Delhi: In a shocking case reported from Nasrapur village, in Bhor Taluka, Pune, a 4-year-old girl was raped. The child was later bludgeoned to death by the perpetrators of the crime. The incident has led to considerable anger and resentment among the villagers here.
65-year-old man raped and killed girl, arrested: Police
According to the police, after the body of the child was discovered, the villagers took the body to the local police station and sat in protest with it. The police immediately started an investigation. They have detained a 65-year-old man for the crime.
According to the police, the 65-year-old man lured the girl to an animal shed, when she was playing outside her house. He raped her there and in order to hide his crime, killed her using a heavy stone. He then hid the body of the girl under dung, they added.
When the family discovered the child missing in the afternoon, they started a search. They finally managed to locate her body inside the animal shelter. Soon after the police were called, who checked CCTV footage from a nearby building. The video showed the 65-year-old taking the girl towards the animal shed.
The girl had reportedly come to her paternal grandmother’s house for a vacation.
The accused has now been arrested, but there is a lot of anger amongst the people of the area. They are raising questions over the poor law and order situation in the village. In fact last night, a large group of locals also engaged in an altercation with the police personnel.
A bandh call has been given by local merchants of the area. They are going to observe the shutdown on Saturday. Apart from this a protest march is also planned from the Bhairavnath Temple.
