Tata has built its new Punch EV on the new acti.ev platform. It has been launched at a great starting price. This car offers features like real-world range of up to 355 kilometers, lifetime battery warranty and fast charging.

BhaTo make electric vehicles (EV) more popular, Tata has launched a new EV model of its famous vehicle Punch. The company said in a press release that the new Punch EV has been designed keeping in mind entry-level electric mobility, so that it can become a good option for everyone. The new punch.ev is built on the modern acti.ev architecture. The company says that India’s favorite SUV, Punch, when it comes in EV avatar, meets all the expectations of the customers. This addresses concerns related to price, range, charging convenience and battery reliability. This is the first electric car which is also a perfect family car.

The starting ex-showroom price of the new Punch.ev has been kept at ₹ 9.69 lakh, which is quite attractive. Its on-road price is at par with entry-level petrol-diesel (ICE) cars. Apart from this, Tata.ev is also offering the option of ‘Battery as a Service’. This plan starts from ₹ 6.49 lakh, in which battery EMI will have to be paid at the rate of ₹ 2.6 per kilometer.

More real-world range and bigger battery – no more range worries

The new Punch.ev packs a 40 kWh LFP prismatic cell battery pack. It offers a real-world (C75) range of 355 km and ARAI certified range of 468 km on a single charge. This will eliminate the need for frequent charging within the city and for short inter-city journeys. There is also an option of 30 kWh battery in it. Both these options make it easier for customers to switch from petrol-diesel vehicles to electric.

Faster Charging – More Driving Time

With fast charging support, its battery gets charged from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. On long journeys, it can deliver a real-world range of up to 135 kilometers in just 15 minutes of charging (about the time it takes you to have a cup of tea or coffee).

Lifetime Battery Warranty

The new Punch.ev comes with lifetime high voltage (HV) battery warranty with unlimited kilometres. This provides long-term protection to the most important parts of the electric vehicle, thereby increasing the confidence of first-time EV buyers.

Rapidly expanding charging ecosystem

Tata.ev’s charging network spans over 2.3 lakh charging points across 1,500 cities. The company has connected more than 30,000 public chargers in collaboration with more than 30 charge point operators. Real-time information about chargers, navigation and payments can all be done easily through the IRA.ev app. The EV Verified network includes over 2,500 trusted fast charging points across 500 cities. Apart from this, more than 130 mega charging hubs have been built on 80 highways, where there are more than 450 superfast charging points. The company plans to increase the number of these hubs to 800 by FY 2026.
