Organizing its T20 league almost every year is proving to be a big headache for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The Pakistani board earns good income from Pakistan Super League (PSL) but every year due to some reason or the other it gets into trouble even before the start of the tournament. This time too there is turmoil. Already the Pakistani board has been forced to reduce the venues of the tournament and now the Bangladesh government has also put a very important condition before sending its players.
psl 2026 season It is going to start from 26th March and this time PCB was in a mood to organize it on a big scale. After waiting for 10 seasons in the league, the number of teams has been increased from 6 to 8 this time. But as big an event as PCB wanted to make it, it is proving to be smaller. Just 4 days before the start of the tournament, PCB has limited it to only 2 venues, Lahore and Karachi, instead of 6. Also, entry of spectators in the stadium has been banned this time.
Bangladeshi government put the condition
Amidst all this, some foreign players have already withdrawn their names from PSL and some are moving to IPL. In such a situation, the attraction of the tournament is already fading. Amidst all this, Bangladesh government has also shown its attitude. Bangladesh Sports Minister Aminul Haq has said that if there is even the slightest threat to the safety of his players, he will not allow them to go to Pakistan for PSL. According to a report by Cricbuzz, the Sports Minister said that he is waiting for the report of Bangladesh Cricket Board and if he feels any kind of security threat then he will not allow the players to go to Pakistan.
Security situation critical in Pakistan
The Bangladesh government has made this announcement because at present there is a war going on in Western Asia. At the same time, the situation remains delicate between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where just a few days ago there were military attacks from both the countries. Considering all these circumstances, the tournament has been limited to 2 venues. Now if Bangladeshi players also do not participate in the tournament then problems will arise for PSL.
