Pakistan Cricket Board has given severe punishment to its three big players within 2 days. After one controversy after another during Pakistan Super League, PCB is taking strict action against its players. After imposing a heavy fine on Naseem Shah for controversial social media posts and Shaheen Shah Afridi for breaking the security protocol, PCB has now given a big punishment to star batsman Fakhar Zaman. PCB has banned left aggressive opener Fakhar Zaman for 2 matches. The Pakistani board has taken this decision after the allegations of ball tampering against Fakhar Zaman, due to which he will not be able to play 2 matches of PSL.
There was chaos in this match
In the sixth match of PSL 2026 Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings This decision was taken after the incident that happened during the match. Just before the last over of this match, the umpire had imposed a penalty of 5 runs on Lahore Qalandars, captained by Shaheen Shah Afridi, for ball tampering and the ball was also changed. Due to this, in the last over, where Karachi needed 14 runs, it came down to just 9 runs and the team won the match within 3 balls.

After the end of the match, Lahore captain Shaheen Afridi had denied knowledge of the ball tampering incident. But then within some time the video of that incident went viral on social media, in which it was seen that Shaheen, Haris Rauf and Fakhar Zaman were discussing before the start of the 20th over. Meanwhile, Fakhar caught the ball with one hand and was seen doing something on it while covering it with the other hand. The umpire stopped him as soon as he saw this and along with changing the ball, also imposed a penalty.
Match referee gave the harshest punishment
After the video of this incident surfaced, not only Lahore Qalandars but also PCB was in trouble. After this, Fakhar Zaman’s hearing was held in front of the PSL’s disciplinary committee, in which team captain Shaheen Afridi and manager Sameen Rana were also present. During this hearing, Fakhar denied the allegations but match referee Roshan Mahanama, looking at the evidence, found him guilty of Article 2.14 of the PSL Code of Conduct, which carries a suspension of a minimum of 1 match and a maximum of 2 matches. After this punishment, Fakhar Zaman will not be able to play against Multan Sultans and Ismailabad United.
