PSG and Arsenal prepare for 2025-26 Champions League final in Budapest

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Arsenal will compete in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday.

In their five previous encounters, PSG hold a slight edge with two wins, while Arsenal have won once and two matches ended in draws, according to Olympics.com.

PSG aims to become only the second team in the Champions League era to defend the title, following Real Madrid, who achieved three consecutive victories from 2016 to 2018. After winning the treble last season and securing the French league title this term, PSG seeks to complete another double by retaining the Champions League trophy.

The club has reached the Champions League final twice before, winning once and losing once. PSG was defeated 1-0 by Bayern Munich in the 2019-20 final but beat Inter Milan 5-0 in last season’s final.

PSG face some injury concerns, with Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi expected to be fit for the final, but goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is likely to miss the match.

Arsenal enter the final buoyed by their first Premier League title in 22 years under manager Mikel Arteta. They will seek their first Champions League trophy and aim for a historic double.

Arsenal previously reached the final in the 2005-06 season, losing 2-1 to Barcelona.

Regarding injuries, Arsenal will be without defender Ben White due to a knee injury. Jurrien Timber and Noni Madueke are doubtful but may make brief appearances if they pass late fitness assessments.
