Global star Priyanka Chopra extended warm birthday wishes to her ‘Varanasi’ co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran on Friday. She shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram story, reposting the greetings from the film’s makers.
In her message, Priyanka referred to Prithviraj by his character name, Kumbha, from the highly anticipated drama. She wrote, “ Kumbha ❤️ The Real Prithvi.”
Earlier, the lead actor of ‘Varanasi,’ also shared a sweet message on his official social media account, saying, “Wishing you a very happy birthday, Kumbha! Have a fantastic day filled with love and happiness!”
The producers of ‘Varanasi’ congratulated their villain Kumbha on social media, stating, “Happy birthday to Varanasi’s most complex mind… Kumbha!!!”
Director S.S. Rajamouli also took to his platform to express his birthday wishes, writing, “Happy birthday, Prithvi. Today, I didn’t want to awaken the Kumbha within you. That Kumbha is destined to leave a mark on the world.”
In November, Rajamouli revealed the first look of Prithviraj as Kumbha from the film. He praised Prithviraj’s performance, stating, “After shooting my first shot with him, I told him that he is one of the finest actors I have ever worked with. Bringing life to a dangerous, ruthless, and powerful villain like Kumbha has been creatively satisfying. Thank you, Prithvi, for playing this role.”
Produced by Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business, ‘Varanasi’ follows the thrilling journey of Rudra (Babu), who embarks on a mission to save the city from an asteroid threat. The film, featuring music by M.M. Keeravani, is set to hit theaters on April 7, 2027.
