Priyanka Chopra lauds Mahesh Babu at ‘Varanasi’ launch; calls him ‘legendary’

Hyderabad: Global superstar Priyanka Chopra made her appearance at the launch event of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’ alongside actors Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. During her time on the stage, Priyanka lauded Mahesh Babu as ‘legendary’.

Attending the GlobeTrotter event, Priyanka, dressed in a beautiful white lehenga, took to the stage to share her experience working in the movie along with the other stars. She addressed Mahesh Babu fans and stated, “Thagala petteddama? (Should we set fire?)” Furthermore, she discussed her return to the Indian film industry.

“As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, I’m so happy to be back making this movie in my beloved India. The best and only way to do Telugu cinema is to do it with the greats,” said the actress. Priyanka showered praises on fellow actor Mahesh Babu.

Addressing his fans, Priyanka stated, “What do you call him? Bob. Oh no no, lion? There are many other names, but I know him as MB, as the legendary, incredible Mahesh Babu. (fans start chanting Babu) You and your beautiful family, Namrata, Sitara, have made me feel like Hyderabad is my home.”

She also talked about SS Rajamouli and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. She called Rajamouli a  ‘visionary’ who took Indian cinema to the world. Talking about Prithviraj, the actress stated that though he is scary in the movie, he is the complete opposite in real life.

Earlier this week, Priyanka Chopra took to X to share her daughter, Malti Marie’s time in Hyderabad. She told fans that her daughter, Malti Marie, had a wonderful time with Mahesh Babu’s daughter Sitara. She also revealed that her daughter accompanied her to the movie’s set. She also added that her daughter visited SS Rajamouli’s farm and she met a calf there.

The actress is playing the role of Mandakini opposite Mahesh Babu, playing the character of Rudhra. Prithiviraj Sukumaran portrays the character of Kumbha in the movie.
