The MediaTek Helio G99 (MT8781) octa-core SOC at a speed up to 2.2 GHz, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB UFS storage (expandable to 1TB) is a part of our review unit. PrimeBook does not have any superior versions at the moment elements, moment, but the platform easily manages the Android ecosystem. The AI capabilities were wide-ranging: the internal Gemini assistant is bright with on-screen contextual awareness, noshortcuts, awareness andtes summaries, oawareness andsummaries orr code snippets through the dedicated AI key. International AI search can find files in a matter of seconds, and PrimeCoding has better tutorials that interact with each other, much easier than Copilot alternatives on non-certified Windows devices, which are clunky. Nevertheless, more demanding AI processes such as real-time image creation with Stable Diffusion cannot be run on the SoC, with an output time of 20-30 seconds. The gap in Windows/Linux application integration clouds PCs can easily stream Visual Studio or Excel over the Wi-Fi, but it needs a reliable connection and paid subscription to be used in the long run.
PrimeBook 2 Pro Review by Pragya Singha Roy
It does not have a touchscreen, summaries ortouchscreen; it is just a regular display, however, touchscreen;. However, the trackpad reacts to touch . However, touch, and the keyboard is responsive, which makes navigation user-friendly. We ran tests: Geekbench 6 scored 729 single-core, 1827 mutouch, and 1,827lti-core, which is competitive in light multitasking, and and 1,827multitasking, and PCMark Work 3.0 scored 8,450, which is excellent in web browsing and document creation. Games such as the Odyssey with Alto and Among Us both run at 60 FPS on medium settings with the custom key mapping through PrimeOS. The ports with lower graphics,, such as Genshin Impact,, run poorly on heavier devices; cloud computing services such as Xbox Game Pass help address it.

Strengths Multitasker: 15 Chrome tabs, Discord calls, and Google Docs do not slow down, as UFS storage has fast loading features. Video conferences through Zoom or Meet take advantage of the wide FOV and low-light optimisation of the 1440p webcam, allowing the group to be set up without distortion. The background hum is reduced with the dual mics’mics’ noise cancelling, cancelling, and it competes with more expensive systems. We watched a 12-hour threshold of Netflix in full-screen brightness, that is, almost the stated 14 hours, before we had to recharge our batteries.

Stereo sound is 78 dB, and the bass is punchy, which is uncharacteristic of the slim profile, and tuned to make vocals in a phone call or podcast clear. It is not Harman Kardon, but it isbut it is better than tinny budget Windows speakers. During prolonged usage, thermals remain below 42°C, and the fan is quiet.
The best feature is battery life: the 60.3 Wh60.3 Wh pack provides 13-14 hours of mixed use (web, documents, streaming) with 80 per cent brightness, as long as most competitors. The USB-C charger with 36W can charge to 50 per cent in 45 minutes, and it has pass-through phone charging. With backlight on full tilt, expect 10-11 hours, or enough time to spend at school.

PrimeOS has intelligent extras: GlideX-like multi-device Wi-Fi sharing, the MyPrime diagnostics app and an app store with 50,000+ education-orientated apps. Some of these oddities, such as intermittent lag of Cloud PC on unstable networks, can be repaired with a restart.
PrimeBook 2 Pro verdict
The PrimeBook 2 Pro is not a power or AAA gaming laptop, or even a native x86 app; it’s a thoughtful Android laptop that is redefining budget computing in India among its youth. Several years ago, these AI capabilities and reliability were not available at a price lower than Rs 20000. It is perfect for students scribbling ideas in tablet-like programmes or professionals working with cloud-computing environments, but its display only hits 60 per cent sRGB, which is fine indoors but washed out outdoors. The lack of a bundled stylus is a minor point of concern, but the colourful FHD IPS anti-glare display processes editing in Canva or light Photoshop ports well.

A portable design, superior battery, and Made-in-India philosophy make the PrimeBook 2 Pro more empowering than it is entry-level. Small software updates have the potential to increase the size of the app ecosystem; however, at Rs 17,990 (including Rs 500 prepaid discounts on the websites of PrimeBook), it is a steal. Offers of Microsoft 365 and Google One are bundled, but the bare price makes it. A good suggestion from any person who cares more about efficiency than excess, it is the future of cheap laptops.
