Presumed Innocent 2: Jack Reynor Joins Superman’s Rachel Brosnahan On Legal Drama

Midsommar and The Perfect Couple actor Jack Reynor is the next actor joining the second season of Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent. The first season starring Jake Gyllenhaal has already earned four Emmy nominations.

Superman actress Rachel Brosnahan has been named the lead of the new season, which will be based on Jo Murray’s yet-to-be-published thriller Dissection of a Murder. Here’s all you need to know about the show’s latest casting.

Jack Reynor to join Rachel Brosnahan on Presumed Innocent 2

According to a report in Deadline, Jack Reynor will be joining the next season of the Emmy-nominated show opposite Rachel Brosnahan. The first season of Presumed Innocent was based on the 1987 novel by Scott Turow. The legal novel had also been adapted into a feature film in 1990 starring Harrison Ford. The next season is not taking up Turow’s book sequel. Instead, it will adapt Murray’s unpublished 2026 novel.

The synopsis for the upcoming book states, “When Leila Reynolds is handed her first murder case, she’s shocked at how high-profile it is: the murder of a well-respected, well-known judge. This shouldn’t be the kind of case she’s leading; it’s way beyond her expertise. But the defendant, Jack Millman, is clear. He wants her, and only her.”

While Brosnahan seems slated to play Leila, it is unclear which role Reynor will take on. Up next, the Irish actor will be starring alongside Priyanka Chopra in the next season of Amazon Prime Video’s Citadel. He also has the feature film Power Ballad by John Carney in the pipeline.
