Premanand Maharaj is very famous across the country for his easy, simple and heart touching sermons. Maharaj ji considers devotion, compassion and restraint as the basis of life. During a recent sermon he advised the devotees to stay away from the three biggest evils which destroy the conscience and character of man.
1. Abstain from alcohol
Premanand Maharaj said that to make life better, man must bring purity and dignity in his behavior and habits. First of all he advised to give up alcohol. He explained that alcohol confuses man’s intellect and destroys his conscience. It not only deteriorates health but also brings stress in the family, economic loss and social degradation. He praised those people who stay away from alcohol and asked others to also take a pledge to give up it.
2. Give up non-vegetarian food
After this, he inspired people to give up non-vegetarian food and linked it to true humanity. He said that true humanity is to avoid killing any living being. Meat is not necessary to give strength to the body. A person can get more energy from balanced and sattvik food and a disciplined life. According to him, food consumed by killing living beings can never become the path to purity.
3. Stay away from other women
In the end, Maharaj ji explained the importance of character and moral values and advised to stay away from strangers’ women. He emphasized on decorum and restraint. They believe that if a person distances himself from these three evils of alcohol, non-vegetarian food and another woman and keeps chanting the name of God, his life will definitely be filled with peace, happiness and spirituality.
