Premanand Maharaj: Why doesn’t God himself stop us from sinning? Premanand Maharaj revealed the secret

Premanand Maharaj

Premanand Maharaj’s statement: In today’s era, whenever a person is surrounded by sorrows or sees evil in the society, a question definitely comes in his mind, if God is watching everything and we are his children, then why doesn’t He stop us from doing wrong things? Recently a devotee asked the same question to Premanand Maharaj, who ignited the flame of spirituality. The answer he gave is not only logical but also life changing.

devotee’s curiosity

A devotee who came to Premanand Maharaj expressed his dilemma and asked, Maharaj ji, you say that we are part of God and he is our father. Then why did they force us to do wrong things? When they know that we are going on the wrong path, why don’t they hold our hands and stop us?

Premanand Maharaj’s answer to the devotee’s question

He said, suppose someone gave you ₹100 and sent you to the market. Now it completely depends on you whether you fill your stomach by buying fruits and sweets with that money, or waste it in bad activities like gambling and alcohol. The giver has only given you a ‘means’ (capital), it is your choice how to use it.

conscience is the true guide

Premanand Maharaj explains that God has given man hands, legs, speech and above all ‘conscience’ (power to think and understand). This is a divine capital.

Choice of speech: You have got the power to speak. Now it is up to you whether you abuse someone with that mouth or chant ‘Radha-Radha’ and ‘Ram-Ram’.

Correct use of senses: God has given you eyes, so you can see obscenity or see God through them. If you give hands, you can help someone or harm someone.

real purpose of human birth

According to Premanand Maharaj, we have been given human birth to correct our old mistakes and bad habits. God has given us ‘freedom of action’. If God controlled us like robots, then sin and virtue would have no significance.

God has given us wisdom which stops us before doing every wrong thing. What we call ‘the voice of conscience’ is God’s way of restraining us. But if we ignore that voice, it is our lack of willpower. Therefore, it is man’s duty to use that divine power in good deeds. God shows the path, but whether to follow that path or not is completely in the hands of man.
