Premanand Maharaj Pravachan: Premanand Maharaj is a famous saint and spiritual guru of Vrindavan. He gives private sermons every day in his Kelly Kunj Ashram, in which everyone from common people to special people also attend. Premanand Maharaj teaches and advises the devotees to follow the path of God and devotion. Devotees come to him with any dilemma related to their life in the form of a question. Then Premanand Maharaj solves their dilemma by answering it.
Similarly, during the sermon of Premanand Maharaj, a devotee asked him that punishment is given by God, but why does God punish us for those deeds which we do not even remember? Answering this question, Premanand Maharaj said that if you do not remember, will you not be punished for your deeds? Your memory is very weak. Do you remember the nine months you spent in your mother’s womb?

He further said that in this life you remained in the womb of a month. Leave aside nine months, do you even remember nine seconds? Human memory is very weak. Just as you were in your previous birth, you are the same in this birth also. Only your body has changed, but you will have to suffer the punishment for whatever deeds you have done in your previous birth. Premanand Maharaj explained this by giving an example.
Premanand Maharaj said that the trial of a murder continues for 10 years, even if the culprit forgets that he has committed the crime, but he still gets the punishment from the court. Similarly, the soul is ancient, even if it changes its body, it still has to bear the punishment of the deeds of its previous births. Divine law does not see the point of punishing.
All sins are destroyed by these actions
Our memory is very short. How can we demand justice from God according to our memory? Whatever we have done, we have to suffer its good and bad results in every birth. However, by singing God’s praises, pilgrimage, penance, charity and chanting God’s name, all sins are destroyed, but one has to suffer destiny.
