Preity Zinta has long been known for her cheerful, vivacious energy, warm nature and an easy, down-to-earth quality that has kept her closely connected to her Himachali roots. That sense of warmth and belonging also finds its way into the story of her homes, which spans Mumbai, Los Angeles and a long-held dream of a retreat in Shimla.
The curtain rises on Preity Zinta’s return to the big screen, but the more intriguing story has been unfolding away from the camera. After years of trading film sets for a life split between continents, the ‘Dil Se’ actor is back in the spotlight with ‘Batwara 1947’. Her latest chapter, however, is not confined to cinema. It stretches across Mumbai addresses, a Los Angeles family home and a long-held dream of building a retreat in Shimla.
Mumbai Addresses Change Shape
Zinta’s recent Mumbai property trail begins in Pali Hill, one of the city’s most sought-after residential enclaves. In October 2023, she reportedly purchased a 1,474-square-foot apartment in Rustomjee Parishram for more than INR 17 crore. The property included additional space and two parking slots, but its tenure in her portfolio was relatively brief. She sold it in November 2025 for more than INR 14 crore.
Another Pali Hill apartment followed a different route. The approximately 1,770-square-foot residence was allotted to Zinta after the redevelopment of her earlier building and was sold in March 2026 for INR 18.5 crore. The transaction included three car parking spaces and carried a reported stamp duty of INR 1.11 crore.
Yet Pali Hill did not disappear from the picture. In May 2026, Zinta leased a 1,500-square-foot apartment at Art Veda for two years. The reported rent stands at INR 6 lakh per month during the first year and rises to INR 6.5 lakh in the second, with a INR 27 lakh security deposit.
Life Beyond the Mumbai Skyline
Los Angeles represents a markedly different chapter. Zinta primarily lives there with her husband Gene Goodenough and their children, Jai and Gia. Their home has been reported as a spacious villa estimated at around INR 35 crore to INR 40 crore. Images shared over the years have offered glimpses of neutral interiors, large windows, outdoor seating, a swimming pool, hot tub and a generous backyard.
The property also reflects the quieter side of her life away from Bollywood. Gardening, family time and life with their pets feature in glimpses of the residence, giving it a distinctly domestic character rather than the spectacle associated with celebrity real estate.
Then there is Shimla, where Zinta once envisioned building a farmhouse on ancestral land near a golf course. In a 2008 interview, she described wanting an environmentally friendly home where her children and her brother’s children could grow up surrounded by greenery. Public reports do not establish whether that project was ultimately completed, making it better understood as a long-standing aspiration than a confirmed property holding.
Taken together, Zinta’s property story reflects a life in transition where Mumbai remains part of her orbit, Los Angeles is home and Shimla represents a quieter idea of belonging.
