Actress Preity Zinta has opened up about the demanding schedule of shooting for her upcoming film ‘VIBE’, revealing that she had to frequently travel between India and the US while balancing work with her responsibilities as a mother.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, Preity said the script was the primary reason she chose the project. She recalled laughing while reading it and felt that the finished film could create a similar experience for audiences.
“Number one, how did I choose it? Based on the script. When I first read the script, I really enjoyed it. I laughed a lot. Toh mujhe laga, agar main as an actor itna has rahi hoon, so I’m sure once the actors perform in it and it’s put together, it’ll be wow,” she said.
Describing ‘VIBE’ as a “fun vibe” and “a fun ride”, the ‘Soldier’ actress said she wanted to take on something lighter after working on an intense project.
“I was already doing something intense, so I wanted to balance that out by doing something fun,” Preity said.
However, shooting the film was far from easy. She said her children are based in America, requiring her to repeatedly travel between the two countries during the production.
“But if it’s hectic, yes, it is hectic because my kids are in America, so I had to shuffle between the two countries. But it was worth it. It was a lot of hard work, a lot of fun, and a lot of discovery. So yes, I enjoyed it,” she added.
Preity recently returned to the big screen after an eight-year hiatus with the period drama ‘Batwara 1947’. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the Sunny Deol-starrer released in theatres on August 14.
‘VIBE’ features Kunal Kemmu alongside Preity, Sparsh Shrivastava and debutant Vanshika Dhir. Directed by Kunal Kemmu, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 18.
On the personal front, Preity is based in Los Angeles with her husband, American financial analyst Gene Goodenough, and their twins, Jai and Gia. The couple married in February 2016 and welcomed their twins through surrogacy in 2021.
