Prashant Kishore has responded to Minister Ashok Chaudhary’s defamation notice of 100 crores. PK has accused Chaudhary’s family of purchasing property from suspicious funds, describing the notice as baseless. He called it a democratic right to raise questions in public interest.
Patna: Prashant Kishore, the architect of the Jan Suraj Party, has given a strong reply to the defamation notice of Rs 100 crore sent by Bihar government minister Ashok Chaudhary. Advocate Devashish Giri, on behalf of PK, sent a detailed written reply and described this notice as completely baseless and politically motivated.
Referring to assets purchased in the name of Shambhavi Chaudhary
Kishore Kumar, the state general secretary of the Jan Suraj Party, said that in the response, details have been given the details of the land and buildings, which were allegedly purchased in the name of Chaudhary’s wife, daughter and current MP Shambhavi Chaudhary and son -in -law’s family. It is alleged that these deals have found serious discrepancies in payment methods and declared amount. The registry of many properties has been done by showing a much lower price than the market price.
Kishore said that as an example, the deed (number-2705) sold by Yogendra Dutt to Shambhavi Chaudhary in 2021 is mentioned by Rs 34.14 lakh check, DD and Cash through Rs 34.14 lakh. But it is not known which check and which DD was given. At that time Shambhavi was 23 years old and was not in any profession. Later, after he became an MP in June 2024, he was paid Rs 25 lakh in April 2025, which is difficult to accept his own income as his income as MP was less than this.
Questions raised in public interest, democratic rights
In the reply given by PK, it is said that these allegations are actually questions raised in public interest. In democracy, people and political activists have the right to review the working style of public representatives. Sending a notice of defamation to suppress this process is against democratic values.
Chaudhary’s political past also targeted
In response, questions were also raised on Ashok Chaudhary’s political career. It was said that after becoming an MLA from Congress in the year 2000, Chaudhary later won the ministerial position by supporting RJD with the same Congress MLAs. This highlights his opportunism and political character. After the suspension from the Congress, joining JDU was described as an example of his party politics.
Country in politics
The politics of Bihar has become warm due to this retaliation of PK. While JDU leaders are calling it a political conspiracy, PK supporters are calling it ‘campaign to reveal the truth’. In the coming days, the dispute is likely to climb political temperature and climb.
