Wedding venue choice
Prakriti Kakar and Vinay Anand chose Fort Barwara near Jaipur for their intimate wedding ceremony. The celebrations will continue in Delhi and end with a big reception in Mumbai, where industry colleagues and those who supported her journey will join.
Prakriti told Hindustan Times, “The wedding is at Fort Barwara near Jaipur, which will be an intimate ceremony. Celebrations will follow that in Delhi. There will also be a big reception in Mumbai, where everyone who has been part of my journey and industry colleagues will join in. It’s going to be two weeks of fun.”

How they picked Rajasthan
The couple visited Udaipur last New Year’s, sparking their love for a Rajasthan palace wedding. Prakriti shared that it matched her childhood dream of a fort wedding, though convincing her parents took effort. She explained to Hindustan Times, “Last year on New Year’s, Vinay and I happened to visit Udaipur, and it was quite clear we would love to get married in a fort or palace in Rajasthan. It was my childhood fantasy. Convincing our parents was a bit of a task, but we were very sure about our plan.”
Prep and outfits
With just 10 days to go, Prakriti finalised her lehenga and outfits after some back-and-forth. She described herself as decisive on jewellery but noted the wedding looks needed tweaks, now all set with fittings done. Prakriti said to Hindustan Times, “I’m the most decisive girl when it comes to jewellery and outfits, but somehow there had been a lot of back and forth with my wedding looks. It’s all done now; I’ve finalised my lehenga, and the fittings are complete, so I’m in a much better place. Overall, it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve styled most of Vinay’s looks, and he’s the most chilled-out groom to be. I wish I could be like him.”
Bachelorette kickoff
The wedding festivities started with a surprise bachelorette party at a villa overlooking Lake Pawna. Prakriti’s sisters, Sukriti and Akriti, plus 12 girlfriends, organised games, art activities, custom T-shirts, and balloons featuring her photos. She praised them to Hindustan Times as “the best maids of honour one could have,” calling the event a perfect start with sisters leading the fun.
