What is Pradosh Kaal?
The word Pradosh means ‘beginning of night’. The time between sunrise and sunset is called Pradosh Kaal. According to religious texts, this is the time when Lord Shiva is very happy and compassionate posture. This is the reason that the fruits of worship and worship done at this time are found immediately and many times more. In Pradosh Vrat, Lord Shiva should be worshiped 45 minutes before sunset and 45 minutes after sunset. This entire 90 minute time is called Pradosh Kaal.
Importance of evening worship
According to religious stories, Pradosh Kaal is the time when Lord Shiva performs Anand Tandava at his residence Kailash. It is believed that at this time all the deities join this divine dance with Lord Shiva. Therefore, devotees who worship Lord Shiva in this holy time get blessings of Mahadev as well as all the gods. During this time, worshiping Shiva-Parvati is considered to be the most auspicious. It is also said that at this time Shiva ji hears the wishes of his devotees very soon and fulfills them. By worshiping in the evening, devotees get rid of diseases, defects and all kinds of sufferings.
Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi of Pradosh Vrat
On the day of Pradosh fast, get up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. Then clean the place of worship and install the statue of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. In the evening, in Pradosh Kaal, start worshiping. First of all, anoint Lord Shiva with Ganga water and milk. Next, offer them belpatra, flowers, dhatura and cannabis. Light a lamp and show incense and incense sticks. Read Shiva Chalisa and Pradosh Vrat Katha. Chant the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’. Finally, perform aarti and distribute it to everyone by offering offerings.
