Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: If you are pregnant or have recently become a mother and come from the financially weaker section, then this news is very useful for you. The Prime Minister of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (Ministry of Women and Child Development) is a scheme that gives financial support to pregnant and breastfeeding women. The purpose of this scheme is to improve the health of both mother and child and to create positive thinking in the society especially about daughters.
How much is financial help?
First child
- 3,000 rupees for pregnancy registration and 1 ANC
- 2,000 rupees for registration of child birth and vaccination for 14 weeks
- That is, additional incentives under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) on a total of Rs 5,000 plus institutional delivery, which benefit up to Rs 6,000 on an average.
Second child (Second Child- If you have a daughter)
- A lump sum of 6,000 on the birth of a daughter.
- Its purpose is to encourage daughters and improve sex ratio.
- If a woman has an abortion or a dead baby, the next pregnancy will be counted as a new case and will be benefited again.
Who can apply for Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojana?
- The age of the woman should be at least 19 years.
- A pregnant woman who is facing Wage-Loss due to jobs.
- The benefit of the scheme will only be available for the first living child and second child (if there is a daughter).
- The beneficiary will have to apply within 270 days of the child’s birth.
- BPL ration card holder women, SC, ST women, disabled women, beneficiaries of PM-Jai (Ayushman Bharat), e-ear-card holder, women with MNREGA job card, women with Kisan Samman Nidhi etc. have been included in this scheme.
Who will not get the benefit of this scheme?
- Women working regularly in the Central, State Government or PSU.
- Women who are already taking advantage of any such maternity benefit scheme.
How to apply for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Scheme?
- Official website pmmvy.wcd.gov.in Go to Citizen Login.
- Create an account by entering a mobile number.
- Then login to the Beneficiary registration and apply by choosing the option according to the child (first or second).
- Upload the required document and submit it.

What documents are required to apply?
- Aadhar card and Aadhaar Link Bank Account
- MCP, Rchi Card
- Information of pregnancy registration and anc
- Child birth certificate
- Children’s vaccination records and documents that prove socio-economic status like BPL card, e-labor card, PMJAY card etc.
Under this scheme, the status of the application and money is given through the message on the mobile number. Apart from this, a mobile app has also been launched, which has made registration easier.
