CINTAA Controversy
Poonam’s hospitalisation comes days after a controversy surrounding the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA). Recently, eight elected members of CINTAA’s Executive Committee resigned from their posts and called for fresh elections, citing a loss of confidence in the association’s current functioning.
In their letter, the members alleged that CINTAA President Poonam Dhillon, Senior Vice President Padmini Kolhapure and some other Executive Committee members had increasingly taken control of key decisions within the association. The resignations subsequently sparked a dispute over the functioning and leadership of CINTAA.
Poonam later hit back at the allegations, expressing that she was ‘shocked’ by the claims. She defended her work for the association and said that she and Padmini Kolhapure had been using their own resources and industry contacts to support CINTAA.
As of now, there has been no direct public statement from Poonam confirming details about her condition
