Pongal festival is incomplete without Jallikattu. This is a kind of game in which a bundle of coins is tied on the horn of the bull. The person who controls this bull is given that bundle as a reward. The word Jallikattu is derived from Kalikattu. Kali means coin and Kattu means tying. Today this game has become the identity of Pongal.
